Apologies for being the grammar police but the expression is “raring to go” not “rearing to go”

No apologies necesary - a good catch as that phrase is set to crop up in a few places over the week. We are raring to go but also the year has been long. Thanks Rob - Anna

Apologies for being the prunciation police, but this is down to "raring" and "rearing" being homophones in Aotearoa. Just like "rarely" and "really". Yes, rarely!

Yes! I almost added that same comment, though you put it better than I would have. Being of Yorkshire stock, they don’t rhyme when I say them. :)

Am I wrong but to me this doesn’t make sense? “To combat this, the panel has recommended that councils pay rates on council land used for schools, hospitals and conservation estate and that the GST collected off rates be returned to local government.” Shouldn’t it be The Government pay rates on ....”

Hi Don - if you're keen on finding out more about who was consulted, there is a section on the way the panel consulted in the report and a summary of all the submissions. They're pretty strong on change needing to be led by community and local government. Thanks - Anna
