It would be interesting to know how much money has gone into conducting all the meetings, investigations, discussions, plans etc. have cost for the potential second Auckland Harbour crossing. Perhaps enough to have built a bridge and get over it?

As of June (per the BusinessDesk report I shared), about 36m! So quite a lot, maybe not quite enough for a bridge though haha – SSL

Enough to fill more than a few bellies, build some houses.

Given that there is already a second harbour crossing over the Waitemata,

Dunedin hospital should be sorted out first. Motorists already alternate between the Highway 1 and the Highway 18 crossing when traffic is bad.

It will be a *third* harbour crossing. The Western Ring Route was built at a total cost of about $4b to provide redundancy, especially for freight.

Just take a lane, now, to give Aucklanders choice...
