Is anyone surprised that a poll taken by the Taxpayers Union, a right wing lobby group funded by global right wing support from the Atlas Network, would find a rise in support for right wing political parties?

Perhaps the Greens should get Greenpeace to run a poll.

I cannot support journalism that headlines taxpayers union poll results. Please give me in depth investigation and reporting of the origins, membership and affiliations of the TPU. A better headline would be

‘ACT party commission own polls in order to headline growing support. ‘

Headlines change minds. Please don’t become ACT party’s pawn.

Especially about a Curia poll. That's National party activist, David Farrar.

I am hugely disappointed that Spinoff has uncritically reported the Tax payers Union poll as per the reasons outlined by other comments . I support Spinoff because I expect a greater level of scrutiny than most other media bothers with. Such uncritical reporting simply supports the Act/ Atlas agenda

⁉️Please Spinoff! You are one of the few media outlets I TRUST, hence why I use some of my scarce $$ to support your work...👍 Polls are completely IRRELEVANT right now since we have just had an ACTUAL ELECTION? 🤷 Elevating them to prominence ( esp given their dubious connections to vested interests) gives the tail of the 3-headed governing pitbull (ACT) encouragement to continue wagging to be divisive & destructive🤬. FFS - you are in the NEWS business - you see how this sort of thing has been weaponised in the USA and the damage it causes to give a minor voice outsized influence via media attention 😡

The poll is a Curia poll. That's National party pollster and activist, David Farrar. A Roy Morgan poll just the day before showed a drop for ACT and a rise for the Greens.

Anyone observing politics should know about Curia and its tight relationship with National for 20 years...

Kia ora Spinoff team, you're usually one of very few balanced, unbiased news sources in Aotearoa and that is why we are subscribers. If you continue with this poor and misleading narrative about TPU and the coalition of chaos, I will have to remove my sub. As noted, many of us have to consider carefully where our dollars are going. I want to be confident mine are supporting kaupapa aligning with the greater good. Clearly I'm not alone in this. I watch with interest.

As per previous comments, the Spinoff printing TPU "poll" results as credible is below acceptable journalistic standards. . I'm currently a subscriber but this won't continue if this happens again.
