Perhaps a Nuremburg rally in front of parliament with Mr Seymour speaking to a larger crowd would indicate some support, but I can't see it happening anytime soon. The desperate 'supported by the majority' rhetoric is more likely coming from Russian propaganda bots.

We are not in Nazi Germany... Though you may mistake NZ for Nazi Germany if you look at the begavou of TePati Maori... Screaming and shouting and intimidating. Democracy works through representation. Show me one poll which shows how many new Zealanders support the bill. I have shown you one. You show me a better one.

Most New Zealanders support the Treaty Principles Bill. Be a reporter and report on this. Where is your journalistic integrity?

Should I not have written about the largest news event of the past 24 hours in a daily news wrap newsletter?

Curia has no credibility. They resigned from the The Research Association of New Zealand (RANZ) before they could be expelled for bias. It's a disgrace that any news organisation treats them as a credible polling body at this point.

👍💯 It is a disgrace indeed that their "work" is given any credibility given their proven bias 😱

😱😁😊😂😅😆🤣 THANKS! Needed some comic relief after taking part in several protests AGAINST this Bill & other racist policies of the Coaltion-of-Cruelty 🤬 "most New Zealanders" ⁉️😁😊😂😅🤣

Yes! This is how the Democrats in America used to react when they obvious was being pointed out to them. They're now finding out the hard way that it was idiotic to concentrate on emotions and ignore real issues. New Zealand is well on track to get its own Donald Trump. And the same way with the election of Donald Trump is entirely the fault of the Democrats It will be the fault of the Left in New Zealand when we get our own orange haired monster.

Not sure if you follow the news but Trump just nominated Dr Oz to run their Medicare system. This is not a joke. The same will happen in New Zealand, guaranteed, if we don't start taking our democracy seriously and engaging in conversations instead of scream and shouting performing dances in the middle of the parliament and labeling everyone who doesn't agree with us (us being liberal democrats of which I am one) racist, patriarch, misogynist, etc etc You pick your label.

New Zealanders support the bill 2 to 1. Where and when did you report this?

Rubbish. They resigned because they wanted to be independent. RANZ has gone woke..

Yeah, real reporting is when you parrot a press release from a minor party.

Expand full comment

It's not a press release, it's a pole of New Zealanders. Voice of New Zealanders matters. Journalists are meant to be impartial. You report on Hikoi - have courage to report on the Poll that shows that nost voters support the Bill.

I’m agreeing with you! The real story isn’t the biggest protest in our country’s history. It’s a month-old poll that was already reported on at the time, conducted by a company that resigned from its own regulatory body to avoid being expelled after complaints against them were upheld.

The real story is that we find out what new Zealanders think through General Elections. Not through silly walkabouts organisesld by people who do not respect New Zealand democracy.

Expand full comment

Do you mean the general election where the three parties who got the most votes all said they don’t support the Bill?

Expand full comment

Yes exactly. The general elections where the free part is agreed with this bill will go to first reading. This is what the people of New Zealand want and this is what needs to happen.

🤔⁉️😱 Which "pole" are we talking about? The Polish immigrant? The Polish visitor? Some Polish journalist? Or a figment of your imagination⁉️
