The use of the word stunning in the headline of this article is both deeply disturbing and so very wrong. There is absolutely nothing stunning about this case. Words that come to mind are horrific, terrifying, evil, disgusting, and the list goes on - but most certainly NOT stunning.
A synonym of stunning is shocking - this case absolutely exhibits shocking brutality and scale. It needs to be read in the context of the entire phrase.
I totally agree. When I saw the heading I was immediately taken back by the use of the word stunning. In what way can this word, usually used to denote something positive, be used to describe rape!
